Leather Butterfly Chair with Antique Copper Base

/leth-er buht-er-flahy chair with an-teek kop-er beys/

noun

1. a leather chair with a slender body and a broad round edges resembling a butterfly shape on an antique copper metal frame.

Description:

The Butterfly chair is one of the most iconic designs in the world.

Its harmonious round edges and spacious nature allows the design to blend into any style of interior decoration.

The design is an absolute must in the home of anyone who appreciates classical items of any kind. If you are only going to have one piece of classical furniture, it should be a Butterfly Chair.

Popular since its creation in 1938, the Butterfly Chair has now evolved into a modern classic. Famous for its functionality, good looks, lightweight and its simplicity. Sunshine Barossa Australia's Leather Butterfly Chair with Antique Copper Base has the awesome look, quality craftsmanship and comfort without the expensive price tag.

Here's a bit of trivia for you: The first modern butterfly chair was designed in 1938 in Buenos Aires by three architects named Bonet, Kurchan and Ferrari (BKF).

They were inspired by a model from the late 19th century called “La Tripolina”. Tripolina was a foldable chair made of wood and Italian leather. It was originally created by English inventor Joseph Fenby and has also been called the Fenby Chair.

 Features:

The chair features a strong metal press-fit frame for quick assembly and can be flat packed for easy transport and storage

This copper frame has an aged finish before the final surface/clear coat is applied. This aging process imparts the frames with rust lines that give it a vintage and rustic look that does not affect the strength or longevity of the frame.

Handcrafted premium leather either plain or with splotch cowhide fur front which slips over the frame - please note that every hide is different as this is a natural product.

Leather stitching around the edge of the chair provides superior strength and durability as well as good looks.

*NOTE: With the plain leather creases are inherently characteristic of the vintage cover and not a manufacturing or packaging error – any current creases will flatten out with use and even more will appear as the cover is used – thus the description “vintage”. The creases do not affect the strength of the leather

Dimensions:

Across the top of the chair: 83cmW, across the base of chair 70cmW, across the middle of chair 61cmW x 87cmH

Seat height from the middle to top back: 50cm, Seat height from the middle to the bottom base: 37cm

Disclosure for all leather products:

Here at Sunshine Barossa Australia, we seek to celebrate what nature has created. Please remember when purchasing this Sunshine Barossa product that your piece is made from natural hide and there may be slight differences between the product pictured and the product you receive as no two natural hides are the same. There may be slight variations in appearance, colour, tone, markings and pattern. There may also be small lines (scars) or other markings on a natural hide. These variations are not faults or defects, they are a part of the unique charm of a natural hide product.
